פְּלִיאָה

פְּלִיאָהf. (b. h.; fem. of פֶּלֶא) hidden thing, secret; miracle. Y. Ḥag.III, 77c top (fr. Ben Sira) פ׳ ממך מה תדע why wilt thou attempt to know what is hidden from thee? (v. מוּפְלָא). Midr. Till. to Ps. 119:18 (ref. to Ps. 139:6) פ׳ זו התוֹרה ‘the secret, that means the Law. Num. R. s. 10 (ref. to פלאי, Jud. 13:18) לפי פ׳ ופ׳וכ׳ according to each miracle that he (the Lord) performs through us (angels), he names us.
